Eramine took part in Argentina Day at Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2026, one of the leading international mining events, where Geoff Streeton, Chief Development Officer of Eramet, presented the Group’s operational experience in Argentina through the development of our operation in Salta.

During the panel, the transition of the Centenario-Ratones project towards industrial-scale lithium production was highlighted, together with the successful implementation of extraction technology under high-altitude conditions and the consolidation of a stable operational platform built on close coordination with the Province of Salta. The Argentine case was presented as evidence that the country can host complex, globally scaled mining operations when resource endowment, long-term industrial vision and effective public–private cooperation converge.

In this context, it was underlined that Argentina holds the structural conditions to become a relevant hub for minerals essential to the energy transition. It was also noted that the development of logistics and energy infrastructure represents an execution challenge typical of emerging jurisdictions, one that can be addressed through sustained investment, regulatory predictability and coordinated planning between the public and private sectors.

The panel also featured the participation of the Secretary of Mining of Argentina, Luis Lucero, who shared the institutional perspective on the strategic role of mining in strengthening the country’s international positioning.

Eramine reaffirms its commitment to the responsible development of lithium in Argentina, contributing to global value chains linked to decarbonisation and to the sustainable growth of the regions where we operate.
