In 2024, Eramine, the Argentinean subsidiary of the Eramet Group, confirms its economic and social commitment to the regions between Salta and its Centenario industrial site. Its overall economic contribution amounted to $276.91M, driven in particular by $237,28M devoted to local purchasing and subcontracting, fully illustrating its role as a driving force for regional economic activity. At the same time, more than 5,800 people benefited from social projects and corporate philanthropy, supported by an investment of $240 000. Eramine reaffirms its commitment to long-term action alongside local players, in support of the development of Argentina’s regions.

Eramine paid 9,72 M$ in taxes and 29,7 M$ in employee compensation, contributing to the creation and maintenance of 3,169 direct jobs, 99.1% of which are held by local employees. These results testify to the company’s strong commitment to the local economy and its long-term integration into the local ecosystem.

The Eramet Group subsidiary implements health and cultural initiatives in collaboration with local partners. 4,980 people have benefited from support for cultural initiatives.

Eramine has also launched a healthcare program in Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes, in partnership with the Salta Provincial Ministry of Health and Fundación Por Nuestros Niños. Focusing on five medical specialties – family medicine, dentistry, gynecology, nutrition and psychology – the program offered 641 consultations, treated 177 patients and ran 27 prevention workshops. More than half the beneficiaries were children, demonstrating a strong commitment to the health of the most vulnerable.

A sponsorship program to empower women, young people and the local entrepreneurial fabric

In Argentina, the “Eramet Beyond for Contributive Impacts” program continues to pursue its vocation: to accompany local dynamics by supporting initiatives that strengthen social inclusion, economic autonomy and territorial cohesion.

In 2024, three structuring projects were implemented in the province of Salta, in direct response to the needs expressed by communities. Supported by recognized partners in the field, they illustrate Eramine’s commitment to building inclusive and sustainable development paths.

  • The “Femmes d’Avenir” project: The Femmes d’Avenir program, already deployed in Gabon and Senegal, was launched in Argentina in 2024 in partnership with Pro Mujer, a benchmark organization in women’s economic empowerment in Latin America. The program is aimed at women who have already been in business for several months, often out of necessity to provide for their families. While their motivation is strong, many of them still lack the tools and support they need to ensure the viability of their project and gain confidence in their role as entrepreneurs.

Over a six-week period, participants are supported in a hybrid program combining personal development and technical training. Leadership, management, finance, digital technology and sales strategy: all levels to consolidate their business and strengthen their autonomy.

In 2024, 300 women in the province of Salta completed the program. In total, 100% have adopted digital tools, 69% have started saving, and 71% say they feel better equipped to make key decisions in their business. These results testify to the tangible impact of the program on economic empowerment and household stability.

  • The “Triple Impact” project: In partnership with Fundación Por Nuestros Niños, the Triple Impact program aims to create 244 micro-businesses by 2026, whose activities combine economic, environmental and social impact. This project is part of a strategy to structure the local entrepreneurial fabric along Route 51, which links the residential areas to the Centenario industrial site.

The first part of the project, Semillero Emprendedor, accompanies high school seniors in several towns in the province. It aims to awaken a spirit of initiative from an early age, through practical workshops and an active teaching approach focusing on key entrepreneurial skills. In 2024, 235 students, including 107 girls, benefited from this training.

The second component, Círculo de Emprendedores, is aimed at entrepreneurs already established in the region. It promotes the use of local resources, the transmission of know-how and the cultural anchoring of activities. In 2024, 58 entrepreneurs, including 38 women, were supported through 24 thematic workshops. These meetings helped not only to strengthen individual capacities, but also to forge lasting networks between project leaders.

  • The “Scholarships” project: Access to education remains an essential lever for reducing inequalities and building the future of young generations. For the past four years, Eramine has been working alongside Fundación Anpuy to support young people aged 13 to 24 in precarious situations.

In 2024, 18 scholarships were awarded, 54% of them to young women, divided between high school and university. This support goes beyond mere financial aid: it offers these young people a real perspective on their future, in an environment sometimes marked by isolation or lack of opportunities.

In addition, a partnership with the engineering school of the National University of Salta has made it possible to supplement this scheme with 10 additional scholarships, awarded equally to female and male students, to encourage a move towards the scientific and technical professions at the heart of the region’s development challenges.

Through these projects, Eramine does more than simply support local communities on a one-off basis: the company chooses to take a long-term approach, banking on the ability of women, young people and entrepreneurs to become players in their own future.
