Eramine, a subsidiary of the French Eramet Group, has taken a significant step forward in its industrial development with the departure of the first vessel loaded with lithium carbonate from the Port of Rosario bound for China, thereby solidifying its inaugural export of this critical resource for the global energy transition.
Having completed the logistical journey from the Salar Centenario-Ratones to Rosario, the 40-ton shipment of lithium carbonate has embarked on its voyage to the international market, marking a milestone not only for the company but also for Argentina’s mining industry.
“This shipment reaffirms our commitment to efficient and sustainable production, aligned with the highest industry standards. We take pride in having successfully executed this export process, integrating Argentina into the global supply chain of strategic minerals,” stated Alejandro Moro, CEO of Eramine.
Eramine’s project in Salta stands out due to its innovative Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process, which enhances efficiency and minimizes environmental impact compared to traditional methods. With this first export, the company strengthens its position in the sector and advances its development plan, driving innovation, sustainability, and regional economic growth.
Eramine thus continues its expansion within the lithium industry, positioning Argentina as a key player in the global supply of essential materials for electric mobility and clean energy.
