Regarding the recent cases of symptoms consistent with gastroenteritis detected in our mining camp, we would like to inform you that laboratory results have confirmed that the origin of these cases was not related to the condition of the food, but rather to its handling.
At Eramine, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Province of Salta, we are working hard to analyse the causes, identify areas for improvement and strengthen food handling and preparation practices.
We approach this situation with a deep sense of responsibility and are committed to learning from these events and improving our practices. To this end, we will conduct a series of training sessions for catering staff and others involved in the food safety control loop. These sessions will focus on best practices in food handling, hygiene and food safety protocols and will be supervised by the Epidemiology Directorate of the Ministry of Health of the Province of Salta.
We are also closely monitoring the catering service provider. This includes increased regular food safety audits and direct supervision to ensure compliance with our quality and food safety standards.
We also recognise the importance of providing reassurance to the mining community and their families. We would like to reiterate that we have the resources in place to deal responsibly with such situations.
Finally, in light of the misinformation that has been circulating about this situation in recent days, we invite the community to refer to reliable sources, such as our official website and social media channels, for accurate updates.
