As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2025, we are proud to share that we were the only mining company recognized by the Government of Salta for our policy supporting breastfeeding—a fundamental practice for the healthy development of children.
During the ceremony held at the Government House Convention Center, we received the plaque certifying us as a “Breastfeeding-Friendly Space,” joining 14 other public and private institutions in the province that promote suitable spaces for working mothers to sustain this essential practice.
This special week, declared of provincial interest in Salta, carries the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” aiming to raise awareness about the importance of promoting and protecting breastfeeding as a cornerstone of child health and overall development.
The World Health Organization (WHO) highlights that exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life, complemented up to two years or beyond, provides crucial benefits: it strengthens the baby’s immune system, reduces the incidence of diseases, and supports better cognitive and emotional development. Additionally, it promotes maternal health by helping reduce the risk of certain long-term illnesses.
In our organization, we have two specially equipped spaces for breastfeeding mothers who, after completing their extended maternity leave, return to their professional activities. These facilities, located both at our Salta offices and at Salar de Ratones, are designed to provide privacy and hygiene for breast milk expression, as well as proper conditions for its safe storage.
We know there is still work to be done, but through policies like this, at Eramine we aim to help close gaps and offer tangible support to breastfeeding mothers on our team, recognizing their vital role as pillars of health and well-being for their families.
This recognition reaffirms our commitment to the community and inspires us to continue working toward an inclusive, healthy, and responsible workplace. We receive this distinction with deep gratitude.
