At Eramet Eramine, we believe that supporting the next generation is an essential part of our commitment. That is why we joined the Socios program led by Junior Achievement Argentina, an initiative that helps high school seniors build their professional identity and explore the world of work with greater clarity and confidence.

For us, becoming part of the Socios program is a conscious choice. Youth unemployment is three times higher than the overall unemployment rate, and we recognize that limited work experience and professional networks are significant barriers for young people. Providing students with the opportunity to experience a real professional environment—where they can strengthen their decision-making skills and build self-confidence—is one of the most meaningful contributions we can make as a company.

As part of this initiative, we welcomed eight students to our offices to experience what a typical workday looks like alongside our professionals. Prior to the visit, each participant reflected on what they would like to study and the career they hope to pursue. Based on their interests, we paired each student with an Eramet Eramine volunteer working in a related field, including social work, law, computer engineering, accounting, geology, geochemistry, chemical and industrial engineering, and psychology.

Our employees volunteered to take on the role of mentors for the day. Throughout the experience, they shared their professional journeys, personal insights, and practical advice—much of it drawn from the guidance that helped shape their own careers.

I’m taking away a much clearer understanding of the professional world. How people work here, what they do, and the opportunities I might have in my future career, said Emilia Morales, a fifth-year student at Colegio Jesús No. 8049.

The day proved to be a valuable learning experience for everyone involved. The students gained first-hand insight into the workplace that awaits them, while our professionals, by reflecting on their own career paths, reaffirmed their sense of purpose and their role as mentors for those just beginning theirs.
